It’s the little things in life that make us happy and release of Wordpress is one. It’s a big release which means maybe this isn’t such small thing afterall. Having a good Wordpress website has come to mean in part, have the most up to date version of the software and all its plugins. As we said in a post last week, our server is safe from the Heart Bleed virus. We recommended changing your passwords for other sites that might have been effected. Here is a link that can test is the site you are visiting (and perhaps logging into) have the Heart Bleed virus:

Research shows that 56% of abandoned shopping carts are due to unexpected costs. If you ask your customers to pay $10.00 in shipping for a $5.00 item, they will balk. This is especially true now that shipping carriers are advertising low flat rates. Consider posting shipping costs within your product listing (i.e. Price $5.00 plus $10.00 shipping and handling). Also note from whom you must collect sales tax (i.e., “California residents add 9% sales tax”).
Last night news about a remote OpenSSL bug was disclosed on http://heartbleed.com/ which detailed out an exploit in the OpenSSL system library that handles HTTPS connections on website server. Our server does not use the version of security software that we use and we are therefore not effected
Other sites you use were effected. It’s a good idea to change your passwords on those sites.
